Special thanks to my outdoor enthusiast and waterfall fanatic friend James Szuch for sharing the original photo with us on Facebook, and then with me to work from. for sharing the original photo with us on Facebook, and then sharing it with me to work from to create this piece. This image struck me in particular as a candidate for this series due to the contrast of the black rocks with sparkling water cascading down.
Creating this series is what kept me sane during the pandemic. Each piece serves as a reminder that a better time will emerge and if we make it through, I have faith that we will be the better for having experienced it. Even the faintest of light is magnified by the darkness. That’s what this series means to me. Fumbling through the darkness, searching for the glimmers of hope, no matter how faint.
Each of the 7 images are Screen Prints using contemporary (photographic) and reduction methods as well as hand-applied Pochoir techniques. Of the 7 scenes in this series, a very limited edition of just five, 16x20s were were hand-pulled by the artist, printed full-bleed on handmade paper (also made by the artist).
