When I was showing the Sensual Seasons Series to a friend, he commented that even though there are only three colors in each piece, he could almost smell the subtle differences in the leaves of Spring, Summer and Autumn and even feel the crisp icy chill of Winter.
The “Sensual” refers to the senses, and is not necessarily a sexual reference.
Yes. Each of these prints are printed on handmade paper, made from meticulously selected junk mail. Only the good stuff was used; tearing cellophane windows from envelopes, removing staples and adhesive strips and collecting it all became a daily ritual for about six months. During this time, I designed and color separated the artwork for the series. Finally, after the art was completed, all the junk mail scraps were ground into pulp and made good use of.
The Series was developed and produced in two sizes. The larger 16x16s and a smaller 8×8-inch version.
